It is our great
pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the 42nd
Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress,
to be held in Singapore from March 18–21, 2027 at Suntec
Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Themed “The Future
of Ophthalmology”, this Congress brings together the
global ophthalmic community to explore the advances,
innovations and possibilities that will shape the way we
understand, diagnose and treat eye diseases in the years
ahead.
A key focus of
this year’s Congress will be Artificial Intelligence
(AI) in ophthalmology. AI is rapidly transforming
healthcare, from screening and diagnosis to personalized
treatment, clinical decision-making and research. Beyond
the promise of these technologies, however, lies an
equally important conversation about how we integrate AI
responsibly into clinical practice, preserve the human
connection in medicine, and ensure that innovation
ultimately translates into better outcomes for our
patients.
The scientific
program will showcase the latest clinical advances,
emerging technologies and AI-enabled applications from
around the world, providing a platform for thought
leaders, innovators and clinicians to exchange ideas,
challenge conventional thinking and envision what the
future of eye care may look like.
Beyond the meeting
room, we have also curated an exciting line-up of social
programs, offering many opportunities to connect and
build friendships with colleagues from across the
Asia-Pacific region and beyond, while savoring
tantalizing local cuisine.
